Flamenco is both local and universal because it is made up of roots and wings, but as Juan Ramón Jiménez said, of roots that fly and wings that take root. For both are equally important and necessary to complement one another; anchoring oneself solely to one’s roots does not allow for progress and growth, and those who venture into flight without the security of the earth are lost.
Raíces y Alas was founded in 2022 to express this dual vision. To unite design and flamenco. To create a space where tradition and the avant-garde coexist. To adapt flamenco and its codes to the contemporary visual language. To contribute to its transmission and its (r)evolution.
